Well, let me sum it up for you. Cameron or Brown, our foreign policy will broadly align itself American foreign policy. We as a nation and in politics have always had a rather superior opinion of ourselves and view Europe as inferior. This stems from our imperial past - which ended in reality over a hundred years ago!

Our Economic policy is dictated by other nations as it has been for the past two or three decades. We are a net importer - due to the fact that our manufacturing industry has been declining for years. We are reliant on the financial services and services industry a great deal, so when the current crisis happened we had very little else to fall back on to get us out of recession- like a lot of industrialized western economies.

Immigration will not be addressed due to its inflammitory nature and the unfortunate fact that when it is mentioned it is hijacked by those of a right-wing bent: UKIP and the BNP and other such morons. But it is an important subject. We have a limited amount of space, and to support the people on this island we need a large amount of farm and agricultural land to grow the crops to feed the people. We are already a net importer of food and our reliance on other countries for food is only going to increase as we build more houses for the increasing population! But, like I say, our short term attitude to eveything, means this issue will not be addressed.
