I don't think you can really tell, though. It was at a red light, and both the semi driver and I were stopped... then he decided to let his foot off the brakes. (Wtf?) Yeah, he didn't even bother to pull over afterwards. And my puppy was in the back seat!
Anyway, it's a 2000 Ford Focus, as I think you know.
I have tremendous affection for my car, which is not at all diminished by the fact that everyone else hates it and fears riding in it. It's still fun to drive. Peppy, handles well, has a great turning radius, etc. The shifting can be a bit annoying at times because you REALLY have to man-handle it (otherwise you get stuck in a screechy gray area between second and third), but that's all.
Soon I will be driving a 2010 Ford Escape (Zoe) most of the time. She's pretty fun to drive too.
I don't necessarily know enough about cars to have a reasoned answer for the last question, but I like VW Bugs. They are actually made for small people, which is a feature.
