Seriously, what is your deal? Did someone make you the "fixate on one potentially offensive part of a post" admin? I said something that could have been misconstrued, clarified it and I think both Larry and I are on the same page. I certainly don't think I was entirely wrong (Larry conceded that the tensions are at least different, which is a point I can concede as better expressing what I meant) in what I said, but I wasn't wholly right either.
But the basic point of my post WAS right. And that's something that you frustratingly keep ignoring for the sake of your own self-righteousness.
Well fine, go ahead and praise yourself for being so understanding and respectful of other cultures. I on the other hand, prefer to cut the crap and talk about the actual issue.
If you'd like to do so as well, let me know.

You must unlearn what you have learned.

Not "higher" nor "lower," but "different" would be the word to use here

My question for you was on that one line that Larry responded to.

She agrees with you about it not being racist - she had issues with your "crude" comment.

It's not race specific music if it's enjoyed/performed/presented by various races.

Only if it's racist to mention the fact that different races exist. Which seems to be the US view.

Some people are like that, yes, but at least it isn't the "accepted" media position. Yet. *NM*

Not at all, the problem is when people seem to say something is exclusive to a given race.

I agree with some of what you say, but I think you're assuming more than is warranted.
