An older lady I help out was very ill for over two months and still isn't 100% back to 'normal'. She had me cooking macrobiotics for her. It's hugely a lifestyle change, but I've tried to include some of the basic concepts of balance into my eating habits (outside of work. . . ).
She always has two slices of daikon radish pickles and grated daikon radish with a couple of drops of tamari (sp?) at the end of each meal that is suppose to aid in digestion.
I have no idea, but my body likes eating all the different grains and vast amount of veggies/greens and miso soups and using seaweeds to cook with.
That's all I can say. She first went on this venture when she was undergoing cancer treatment almost 30 years ago, I think it was that long ago. . .
Good Luck!
