Road construction, old moss-covered oak trees.. and penicillin.

I know, it sounds crazy.. but I grew up in Pensacola, and we would drive through southern Alabama, through Lucedale and to Jackson to catch I-55 north to see my grandparents in Missouri, when I was a kid. Thirty years later, they still haven't finished taking apart and putting back together the interstate in Jackson. And it took nearly all day to drive through Mississippi. Also, they had the best looking old moss covered oak trees in Lucedale.
After that, I think of Biloxi and the casinos. And a quote from my friend's mom from when they were stationed at the Gulfport SeeBee base.. "You don't swim in the water at the beaches in Mississippi, unless you want to catch something.. something you need penicillin to cure."
I nearly took a scholarship to Mississippi State. Then I remembered that it was Mississippi. (hehe)
You know.. people in Alabama say "At least we're not in Mississippi", and people in Mississippi say "At least we're not in Louisiana".

Mississippi usually ranks below Louisiana, actually. We can't clear that pesky 49th place.

Spent a summer in Biloxi, so the humidity, the casinos, and the big, abandoned houses.
