The level of tipping is much lower, with staff paid better wages. This is how I think it should be, your wage should cover your work and tips are just a bonus extra

When you go to a restaurant, do typically tip?


Yes in the 10%-15% range which is the norm here. Very occasionally if the service was trully great I'd tip more than that.

Do you tip a set amount or do you vary based on service quality?


I'd drift towards the 15% if the service was very good. Towards the 10% if it was just average.

Why do you tip or choose not to?


The quality of service, if they are saving me hassle

Pizza delivery, tip the driver?


Yes, typically 2-3 euro which would be standard here.

I'd also tip a Bar Boy/Girl if I was ordering drinks through them, or on the rare occasions that I'm ordering a very large round (15-20 drinks) I'd tell the bar man to put one on for himself.

I also tip my barber.
