Many of you may be aware that a man flew his plane into the IRS offices in Austin, Tx, well he left a lengthy suicide note, its an interesting read, it gave me chills, but its unfortunate he couldnt find something to live for even in all the bullshit in this world and current economic crisis.Well for anyone keeping count, heres a terrorist attack not committed by a muslim
on an errand at my own expense to prevent my own screwing. To save my job, future employability, financial solvency, prepaid disability that will be demanded back, and possibly my imminent marriage. A killing spree wouldn't help, but a visa would; I could GET THE

What should be more disturbing than his inability to find something to live for is that he found something to die for; he doesn't so much "ramble" as summarize his thirty or forty years of being repeatedly and systematically screwed, and concludes with a call for others to do exactly what he did. That should concern any thinking person, even (especially) ivory tower dwellers nestled in gated communities usually paid for with corporate welfare to those same people who decry the waste and corruption of a single inner city mom getting food stamps. You want a Muslim tie in, Aisha? Does Stack castigate corporate greed and cruelty more harshly than an Al Qaeda manifesto does? The actions of both are equally wrong, but perspective provides understanding; it's almost predictable if you pay any attention and aren't so isolated from the unwashed masses that you can't conceive what they experience daily.
We're seeing now what economists warned of in the '60s and '70s: Alienation. It's no longer just the Unabomber so disgusted with the system he withdraws to his wilderness shack (though that's how it starts. ) It's your neighbor, coworker, grocer, the guy next to you on the bus, all shunted aside and disconnected from humanity. All conditioned to believe it's a dog eat dog world and every man for himself, so they don't care about you, me, society or the country: They care about themselves and possibly their families; everyone else is either tool or obstacle.
That ends in total anarchy and complete social break down, or the disenfranchised grow too numerous to deny. That's when they make common cause and storm the Bastille, and the men guarding the gated communities join them because being trampled to death isn't worth $8/hr and those they defend only think their lives worth that much. That's the problem with wanting big government out of your wallet because "money is the ultimate expression of power. " POWER is the ultimate expression of power; big governments tyrannical laws stop guys hungrily swinging a twelve pound sledgehammer every day from TAKING everything owned by CEOs who don't know which end of a hammer to hold.
That's why Europe socialized; they saw the worst abuses of laissez-faire capitalism and dictatorial communism. The Depression, WWII and the Holocaust showed them they could neither demonize achievement through industry nor reduce society to industrial serfs, because both roads lead to the guillotine. We can debate the relative merits of American vs. European models, but how often does anyone, Muslim or otherwise, fly a plane into a European building AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME?!!! The answer isn't communism or capitalism, because the government in both serves an elite few rather than the people, and sooner or later they'll bite the hand that steals their food. Socialism isn't about secular humanist morality, it's about cooperative enlightened self interest; morality is encouraged, but only Common Sense is required. If America doesn't remember its Common Sense soon it will see more people who can do what the first American colonists did: Cross the Atlantic to get away from this garbage. And, of course, more laws to prevent people taking anyone with them when "Falling Down. "
