Did you know that Oxymoron is itself an oxymoron?
How so?
Oh, it means 'sharply dull' in greek, etymology is an irritating hobby of mine.
Dublin Mudslide. Hands down my 100% total favorite. *drools at the thought*
That's definetly one of the better ones, I wish I hadn't included that, I've been wanting ice cream since I wrote the survey.
Do you find it ironic that we use the word Onomatopoeia to describe words which are not only phonetically spelled in pronunciation but basically in meaning as well?
how is that ironic? I'm beginning to think you do not know what that word means.
No, just a friend horribly bungled the pronunciation on the phone last night, it was in a crossword puzzle he was doing, he thought it was ironic that a rather long word that doesn't exactly pronounce like it's spelled describes a host of words that basically mean exactly what they sound like. I was surprised he didn't know what it meant, and when he said no I said "Honestly?", which is basically the origin of this chunk of the survey, the puzzle clue was referencing comics.
Totally. But not in the way most people believe. One might think, based on the correlation of pink flamingos to weather, that Flamingos make an area warm. The actual truth is far more insidious. Flamingos are actually incredibly skilled at keeping an area cold . It is only through the hidden actions of the Flamingo Containment League that these flighty creatures of whim are kept from bringing us into the next Ice Age. The League was quite clever, actually. They told the flamingos that--in honor of their great power--the humans had created a Broadway production just for them (flamingos are great lovers of musicals). Flamingos, however, are perfectionists and they cannot be satisfied until their plumage is neon pink and Elenore in the back row of Florida stops tipping over every time she bends on one leg to get shrimp. I haven't seen it myself, but I've also heard Harold gargles horribly while he's performing his scooping shrimp maneuver.
Presumably then, the use of fake flamigos as lawn ornanments is designed to warn away other flamingos, who are perhaps territorial, and thus the FCL deliberatly has engaged in a covert marketing strategy to see to it they are in places where warmer temperatures are the norm?
Which would you rather _____ ___, Paris or Las Vegas?
??? I don't know what you mean to imply, but probably Paris. I found Las Vegas to be horribly trashy.
Alternatively Paris reeks most strongly in the warmer months
Did you just mentally insert 'travel to' or 'blow up' in the question above?
actually, my first thought was F*ck in. Shows you where my brain is.
All answers are acceptable
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
