Or, rather, Malkier. He told me that the thread and the prank itself were the result of 12 hours in an airport, boredom, and a laptop. This was before the days of wireless though, so I think he hooked it up to a phone line or something and it cost him a ton of money.

This was unexpectedly hilarious for me to read (unexpectedly because I've read it before)... sigh. We knew how to have internet fun, that's for sure.

What are some other awesome prank posts? I remember once that Hurin was quite edgy in chat, so I figured he needed someone to flame. So I posted a long, rambly, post under the name "Hurin Hater" about how he sucked, making sure to use contradictory logic and imbuing it with a sense of know-it-all newbie entitlement. I thought it was a work of art. The only thing was, he didn't visit the site that day until the end of the day. And neither did I. But when I did, there were about 40 responses from everyone on the site, viciously ripping into this brash newbie. What could I do but respond in kind? Holy crap that was fun.
