You have passion on your side but I have history random thoughts Send a noteboard - 20/01/2010 06:49:32 PM
Living in Dallas and being a fan I hear most of what the players say in their press conferences. I never heard any player say anything beyond the Vikings were a great team and probably the biggest challenge they had faced all year. What flexing did you hear?

Was at the game. I'm talking about actual flexing, posing, and taunting. It was done by quite a few Cowboy players... and was watched by a lot of the Vikings players, staff, and fans.

So in other words no you can't point any actual trash talk from the Cowboys you were generally offended because they do all of the typical things teams do to get pumped up for a game. I suspect you have more problems with the star on their helmet then the fact that they were pointing at it. Will you get offended when Saints fans and players say "Who Dat"?

I guess it is just another case of bitterness brought on by unrequited rivalry, we see a lot of that.

And running out the clock is not considered disrespectful in the NFL. 99% of the time teams run the ball once or twice and then take a knee to finish the game. It was second down with less then 2 min so there was zero threat. Vikings have the right to try for one more score but lets call a spade a spade, it was a snub. They had their panties in wad because the press had down what they always do, jump on the band wagon of which ever team seems hot at the moment. the way the Vikings have been chest thumping over this I you would think they had been the underdog instead of favorites.

Have you ever played? It always feels like disrespect when you're on the losing end. As mad as you feel at giving up more points, I never played to be disregarded even in losing.

I didn't play at the professional level and I doubt you have either so let’s just leave that silly argument out of it. If it had been the Cowboys doing it I would have called it petty but hey the Vikings and their fans can play it anyway they like, they won the game.

The Cowboys have kicked Farves ass most of his career and he wanted to a parting shot. That’s fine but he should at least have the balls to own up to it.

I went you one further. I claimed that this was a classic playoff matchup, going back a long way. The teams have bad blood. The last time they played in the playoffs, the Cowboys were accused of running up the score. The 1975 "Hail Mary" play. Countless tough and very physical games. The Hershel Walker trade. Real, imagined, hyped... even Favre's personal record sure. Bottom line is that it's the Defenses job to stop the other team, not the other team's offense.

I have been watching football since the early 70s and I don't recall a playoff game were a team up by 20 points felt the need to go all out to score with less then 2 min on the clock. Can you? The typical play is you run the ball then take a knee. I have no objection with the play since my team's season ended either way but I do object to revisionist history.
