RUSH: Here's President Obama speaking about Haiti this morning in Washington at the White House. He held a press conference. Now, I want you to remember, it took him three days to respond to the Christmas Day Fruit of Kaboom Bomber, three days. And when he came out after those three days, he was clearly irritated that he had to do it. He didn't want to do it. He comes out here in less than 24 hours to speak about Haiti.
Good start, equating the underwear bomber (death toll... um, I'm not even sure anyone other than the underwear bomber was even injured?) to the Haiti earthquake (death toll being estimated at up to 200,000 and over 70,000 burials already). Of course, by waiting three days to speak out publically about the underwear bomber, that allowed no people to die, while every delay in reacting to Haiti, an ongoing disaster, cost lives.
(Ignoring the debate over how to best deal with a failed terror attack - a reasoned, calm response playing it down as Obama did or a fast, panic style)
RUSH: Oh, this is what he lives for. He lives for serving those in misery. Now, don't misunderstand here, folks. I don't have the whole press conference, but I wonder did he apologize for America before acknowledging we are the only people on earth that can possibly help 'em out down there in any significant way? By the way, I've checked it out, Cuba has offered nothing. Venezuela has offered nothing. They have nothing to offer. (interruption) Venezuela is going to send 30 people?
"He lives for serving those in misery" is a bad thing now?
Also, wiki states that Cuba had over 400 doctors in the country within 1 day (some already being there, of course) before adding a further 30 doctors... which, to be fair, is a fairly decent contribution for a country crippled by being under embargo by the US. I guess he didn't check it out too well?
Venezuela sent about 75 people and has claimed to be sending to Navy vessels loaded with food.
RUSH: So the country that he runs around the world apologizing for, the country that he has chip on his shoulder about, he now turns to as its president and asks people who have lost their jobs because of his policies to donate to WhiteHouse.gov to the people of Haiti, and we will do it.
I like how in the previous paragraph he set that up - "I don't have the whole press conference, but I wonder did he apologize for America"
The followed up from an possible that he is suggesting to a definite - "So the country that he runs around the world apologizing for"
He also asked people to go through WhiteHouse.gov to find out where they could donate, not donate to WhiteHouse.gov as Limbaugh misleadingly claims. Which is a pretty massive difference really.
That place, Haiti, has been run by dictators and communists, and how long is it going to be before we hear Obama and the left in this country say that what we really need to do is reinstate the communist Aristide to the leadership position down there to coordinate putting the country back together?
So now it is a coup attempt by Obama?
Interesting how he also labels Aristide as a communist and by implication a dictator that Obama wants to return to power.
RUSH: Yes, I think in the Haiti earthquake, ladies and gentlemen -- in the words of Rahm Emanuel -- we have another crisis simply too good to waste.
Seems an attempt to imply Emanuel is looking at the earthquake as an opportunity, rather than that was how he viewed a struggling economy.
RUSH: Would you trust that your name is going to end up on a mailing list for the Obama people to start asking you for campaign donations for him and other causes.
Well to actually donate, you leave the White house website - it is just providing a link.
RUSH: Besides, we've already donated to Haiti. It's called the US income tax.
Even in the context, this still sounds just as damning to me - a straight out "why bother donating money, you are already paying income tax, so you have donated enough".
RUSH: Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something, Carol. You realize he's got this brother living in a hut --
RUSH: -- over in Kenya, and this guy makes the equivalent of 50 cents a year. If Obama would give this guy $20, I mean the percentage increase, $20 would be like giving an average person a thousand.
Here is that brother in questions take on this story...which suggests Limbaugh might need to up his research (assuming he doesn't intend to mislead)
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article4583353.ece
RUSH: And if he hasn't given his brother any money or any of his family any money, what makes you think he's going to send money to Haiti?
"Last year the Obamas donated $172,050, or 6.5 percent of their income, to charity, according to White House figures."
"You can also help, immediately, by donating to the Red Cross to assist the relief effort. Contribute online here, or donate $10 to be charged to your cell phone bill by texting Haiti. Find more ways to help through the Center for International Disaster Information." So that's all the guidance you get. Now, that's pretty easy, text Haiti and you're gonna get billed for ten bucks and that money ostensibly is going to go to Haiti.
He seems to be either confusing the Red Cross with the White House (names with colours in are so dreadfully confusing, can't blame him for not being able to keep them straight).
I'm fairly sure I could have found plenty more that I would have strong issues with in there as well, if only I could be bothered to spend more time reading it through. Instead I skipped quite a few of the later chunks (though skimming them, it looked like a fair bit of them was him rehashing his earlier incorrect/ misleading claims)
*MySmiley*
Robert Graves "There is no money in poetry, but then there is no poetry in money, either."
Henning Mankell "We must defend the open society, because if we start locking our doors, if we let fear decide, the person who committed the act of terror will win"

Why is Limbaugh such an a$$hole?

I thought Robertson was the biggest douchebag of all, and an idiot as well.

Sounds like it boils down to the old charges of atheism in the French Revolution.

You must understand: Robertson is not from a religious family turned to politics, but the opposite.
