Proteins come from beans. There are other things, but beans are the main source of vegetarian protein I'm aware of.
Ah, interesting. Internet also says pea-type vegetables are rich in protein.
Such as? I'm not aware of any necessary nutrient that you can't get from some plant, somewhere. I admit it's difficult (I'm not Vegan, myself) but I'm reasonably sure it can be done, and that you'd be healthier for it if you managed it well.
Oh you can get almost everything from plants, just not in reasonable quantities. Let's take calcium. I found a table for calcium content on this vegan website ( http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/calcium.htm#table1 ). Now, daily recommended intake of calcium is 1g for adults and 1.5g for pregnant or post-menopausal women. The richest-in-calcium vegetable is "collard greens", with 357 mg per cup. So to get your daily calcium, you need to eat 3 cups of that per day Or 5 tablespoons of "blackstrap molasses"
Then, there are still a couple things like vitamin B12 which are only found in animal products (or supplemented foods).
Nah not at all. Atkins works by cutting out carbs, almost entirely. From the sounds of this diet, "most plants" likely includes most fruits, and fruits have PLENTY of carbs.
Oh, ok. I thought the Atkins diet mostly cut out starches.
Well I have heard that heating foods destroys a lot of the nutrients in them. It probably IS healthier to not cook your food.
It's mostly funny because of eating raw meat. That's definitly not digestion-friendly. I've heard that too about vitamins being destroyed by cooking, but I never really checked...
