Injuries happen, and a good team will have the necessary depth to continue on. Texas' backup QB was actually pretty good last night. McCoy is obviously better, but Gilbert wasn't embarrassing. The better team won last night, and likely would have had McCoy staid in the game.

No, the "National Championship" is tainted because there is still another undefeated team out there, and plenty of other great teams that could prove themselves better than Alabama. Unfortunately, we'll never know. Until there is an actual playoff, the "National Championship" will always be tainted. For what it's worth, though, I think Alabama would probably come out on top this year anyway.
