2. Very high end sports cars for rich enthusiasts (Ferrari et al.)
Unfortunately, this is also the case with a lot of low end sports cars. Not dirt cheap (they don't fit your first criteria), but a lot of the entry level "fun" cars only come in manual. Or the best engine/package only comes with a manual. etc. It's very irritating. They think that people who want to buy a fun car only plan to use it for recreation.
