Unless you need someone to help you with anything. You are not going on a vacation or anything, you are giving birth. No one will know how long it'll take, and you'll need your privacy. A friend of mine sent out texts as soon as she went to the hospital, assuming the baby would arrive pretty soon. She ended up with a 60 hour birth, and they got so bothered by all the calls and text that continued to pour in. People asking "are you done yet?" continuously. It's stressing enough, you don't need the family making you more worried.

Just go to the hospital, and think of your self, and the family that you are starting. No one else matters. And who knows, maybe you'll end up like me, where everything will happen so fast, there will not be any time for calls or texts until you have the baby in your arms. And if you are like me, you can't call then either... I had to make my hubby do all the calls, cause when I tried to talk after the birth I just ended up in tears, I was so tired, happy and full of hormones.

Bring a camera, take pictures, and show them to your sister. She has no place in the hospital with you until the baby is out. And if she can't see it, well, it is her problem, not yours.

A birth is a intimate thing, don't let her make you feel guilty because you only want to share it with your hubby.
