I think they said there's one guy left alive in Germany.
The last trench combat veteran (Harry Patch of the DCLI) died this summer. There is still an American (ambulance driver, I think) living in West Virginia, a Canadian, and an Australian(?). So they aren't all gone yet.
Look! I posted instead of lurking.
They will not grow old as we who are left grow old.
