Who sets their phone so a text wakes them up?

I don't have a whole melody for an incoming text message, if they do, it's their fault. However, even a my very short signal wakes me up, I am just such a light sleeper. In that case it depends how early you send it and what it's about. I don't mind getting nice messages at ungodly hours. Either I read it and turn around to sleep again with a smile or I just notice it and doze off again.

I woke someone up by texting them, so tell me it's their fault

Their fault. If they don't want to be woken, they can bloody well turn their phone off.

I'm primarily in the "their fault" camp, but unimportant texts should still wait for morning. *NM*

depending on what time you sent the text, it may or may not be your fault.

Depends if you sent it at a time that you would normally expect them to be sleeping
