Thank you! That's my dilemma, all example of cheap, good bookcases people give are all wood. I'd love to buy the same thing at half price, I just haven't found it. (Although Tom's link was good. But if anything, it tempts me towards even more expensive items.) This was my experience when I was shopping for a bedroom set - anything that's contemporary style, and just a little different & interesting, is already a lot more expensive.


Or if they're not wood, they're going to be more industrial than stylish.

I like the Carter Continental one above the best with your current furniture actually (the one with the champagne plating). Why did you get talked out of that one?

ETA: I know from what you've said in the past that you take your books very seriously too, both in how you treat them and how you want them displayed. Which is another reason you're more willing to spend more $$ on this than other people are willing to for bookshelves. That doesn't make it wrong for you to do so, it just helps explain why your price range is higher. I'm all about helping you justify buying these
