(Speaking of Philadelphia Eagles' Quarterback Donovan McNabb) "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well."
He claimed that McNabb is overrated because the same sort of sentiment that got everyone all excited about the prospect of electing a black president last year was manifesting in favorable coverage of Donovan McNabb and causing people to exaggerate his performance. In point of fact, the record tends to support Limbaugh, as McNabb is extremely overrated. Limbaugh said nothing derogatory about McNabb that many others have not said, his offense was attributing his popularity to his being black, and a black quarterback's success makes a better story.
