The movie is a remake. Of a miniseries that came out in 2003. In the english language. A VERY GOOD miniseries, I might add. There is not a single good reason to remake any of it, regardless of who plays in which version and how good it is.
Remakes irritate me. I will allow that there are exceptions to my puritanism (the new BSG), but these are rare and far between.

But I believe added horror is added when the remake can clearly not be as good as the original.
