What is this board about? I see silliness and journal entries made posts, and politics. Is there something missing on the community board?

What makes up a community?

People make up a community and there are some wonderful people here, but a community is also made up of elders, and youngsters (newbies); because Mike sort of screwed us over when he closed Wotmania by linking to Dragonmount rather than Read and Find Out we aren't getting any new members. As much as "n00bs" can be a pain in the behind, a community with out fresh blood becomes stagnant and eventually dies out.

We need to find a way to get new Rafolites!


How do we put some fire into this board?

Encourage new people to come to this site. They may start out just going to the "Wheel of Time" board or the "Sci-Fi & Fantasy" board or some other board but they hopefully will with time become posters on the "Community" board.

Are we separating the boards too much?

While I do think we should be able to make posts about books and TV/movies on the community board with out our posts being deleted and/or sent to the other boards I also like having separate boards. I sort of made a pact with myself that with the move I'd post more on the "Sci-Fi & Fantasy" and the "TV & Movies" boards and I am happy to say I have.
Hmmm...On the other hand there does seem to be some people who I've seen on one or the other of the other two MB that I haven't seen on this MB. Maybe they need to be encouraged to join the larger community.

Hmm.... I do enjoy the silliness!
