I walk trails all the time, but generally with friends and kids. I'm not sure it qualifies as exercise.

Like I said in another response, supposedly you burn as many calories per distance walking compared to running, but I found myself enjoying the relative speed of going 6-7 mph compared to 3.5-4 mph.
