In retrospect, C3PO is just as pointless, annoying, and if anything, more of a invite for bigotry.
I mean, if I am chosen for an adventure with the star wars characters and you give me the option of having either in the group, it's a tough call. I guess threepio's translation ability at least gives him some utility.
Just saying, Jar jar wasn't exactly surprising.
