Example: The Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. Reacher in the books has close cropped blond hair, blue eyes and is 6 foot 5 inches tall, 235 pounds. So who plays him in the two movie adaptations made so far? Tom Cruise.

I shudder to think of who will be cast as Rand. Or Lanfear. Just to name two.


Richard Cypher/Rahl is the same kind of big and dominating and physically relentless. He killed a man by smashing into his abdomen, grabbing his spine and pulling it back out the front. That scrawny little weenie who needed to stand on tip-toe next to Kahlan had no business playing him.

I've gone on at length elsewhere about how the actors in Game of Thrones and Beauty and the Beast don't match up to the imaginary and cartoon appearances.
