View original postThe commonly accepted pronunciation is "barbituate" regardless of the spelling. Just like "Febuary" vs. "February" or "sherbert" vs "sherbet." But "libary" is not commonly accepted, with perhaps some regional exceptions.
Or, well, now that you mentioned it the 'Febuary' does sound familiar, but I can't remember consciously thinking about the missing R.
