The commonly accepted pronunciation is "barbituate" regardless of the spelling. Just like "Febuary" vs. "February" or "sherbert" vs "sherbet." But "libary" is not commonly accepted, with perhaps some regional exceptions.
Still an appropriately awful pun though, so I was glad to see it again
