Why wouldn't you violate the nuke treaty? Maybe not on a grand scale, but on a minor scale the odds of getting away with it are supremely high. Based on what we've seen (and not seen) from the treaty and it's enforcement, they could very well have their non-sactioned cake and eat it too.
I'm by no means as well versed about the world stage as you, but I'm just sitting here thinking that if I was the Iranian leadership, why wouldn't I violate the treaty?
Would the US actually do anything? Would the EU? The UN? And by anything, I mean more then a financial slap on the wrist. The only thing that I can think of is that Israel wouldn't tolerate a nuclear Iran. After years of anti-Israel talk, and aggravated assaults through terrorist proxy, Israel wouldn't put up with that nonsense.
