The Republicans did not steal the seat. They are not forced to vote on the nominee though they did something I am not happy about though. Garland would have lost the nomination. The Republicans were in power. They should have given him an up/down vote.

And yes a court with Garland would have dramatically changed the balance of power on the SC. He is left of center. For the first time in decades you would have had a "liberal" court.
