Like Cannoli, I was raised in a religion that views life as beginning at conception. Once you stipulate that, then trying to impart "nuance" to the abortion issue constitutes an attempt to sidestep the requirements of your belief system.
Unlike Cannoli, my faith has weakened with age, so I am not as consistent as he is with my own personal beliefs. If I admire his views it's because I am impressed by his lack of moral relativism and thus not trying to rationalize how a "modernization" of his beliefs is not an outright rejection of them.
