A decade ago I had never flown, but have made up for lost time with about 30 flights since, and never once saw the horizon curve. Googling shows a clear scientific and pilot consensus that the Earths curvature is visible only at a MINIMUM of the 35,000 feet typical of commercial flights, but only with VERY clear skies and a 60° field of view, a fairly rare combination from a tiny airliner window. If anything, commercial flying would only reinforce Shaqs fallacy that "every time I drive, or even FLY, anywhere the horizon is always flat as a board, so the Earth must be too, QED!"
On the other hand, New Jersey, L.A. and Miami all have well known beaches, so he has had ample opportunity to see countless ships gradually sink below the horizon due to the Earths curvature, so he remains a moron. Either that, or just has truly AWFUL vision, which admittedly would explain why a professional basketball player is incapable of hitting a basket without dunking.
