My daughter is only 5 years old, so we have a few years, but how should we watch Star Wars and the Middle Earth movies?

STAR WARS:
Movies 1 through 9 in chronological order?
Or based on release date?
Or just ignore the prequels?

MIDDLE EARTH:
Hobbit and then LOTR
Or LOTR first?

I think LOTR and then Hobbit is a pretty easy decision, but I go back and forth on SW.

Also the Hobbit movie trilogy is atrocious. Skip it. Let her watch the Rankin-Bass cartoon version instead. It is far truer to the source material.
