Have you ever read the lyrics to the French national anthem?

View original postBTW, am I the only one thinking that there is some sort of karmic payback due for a nation that chooses to celebrate itself by commemorating such a revolting event? I mean, we celebrate the legislative adoption of a document explicitly setting forth our grievances and philosophical justification for the establishment of a new state. We don't celebrate the lynching of a bunch of helpless prison guards for the crime of working in a place that had had a bad reputation years before.
It's a fair point, as long as you're not suggesting that what actually happened in Nice was said karmic payback...
But yeah, on the topic of France and its national symbols, there is something pretty hilarious about hearing an entire stadium of soccer fans sing about impure blood soaking their fields, and all that jazz. I never did get just whose blood was supposed to be impure... maybe this is why Voldemort got a French name?
We need stricter truck control laws!
