Let's not pretend that Republicans are on some kind of moral high ground here- the basic concept is "justice dies, new one gets put in, Senate gets to have input on process."
Yes, there's no timeline in place, but that is due to faulty laws. (Or rather, no set of laws is perfect, so it's due to "lawmakers assuming that everyone involved will behave like adults".
It's just... embarrassing, to see.
