View original postDoing the same things as the Nazis? Really? After a line like that, I would understand if people dismissed the rest of what you have to say out of hand as anti-Semitism. Because it really kind of is.

I'm sure some of them would, because "anti-semitism" has become fairly meaningless due to overuse and an overly broad definition. Not holding Jews to a different standard of behavior is not anti-semitism, and if you DO want to call it that, then I don't care if I'm considered an anti-semite.

They want an ethnic and culture homeland at the expense of people who don't share their ethnic group? Fine but then quit whining about how evil others were for attempting the same thing. And no, I'm not saying Israel has done anything remotely on the level as the Holocaust, but you know that's not the only thing they complain about the Nazis doing to them. Even the more minor instances of oppression, even the very GOAL of a Germany for Germans, is harped on as being evil. Yet it's somehow okay when THEY do it.

It's either okay or it isn't. It's not okay when it benefits Jews and evil when it doesn't. They're not special, they're like everyone else.

View original postI wouldn't normally encourage Israelis to be any more dismissive of Europe than many of them already are, but in fairness, they really don't get much in the way of special protection from Europe. Unless you count the invitations to European soccer tournaments and the Eurovision Song Festival.

Well, that was in response to a line in the original article about how scary it was that, once Israel showed it could defend itself, it wasn't entitled to special protection from Europe anymore. Seems pretty hypocritical to take protection from Europe as a given while also whining about how Israel shouldn't need Europe's approval for anything it does.

If you don't think Europe should have a say in anything you do, fine, but then don't act like they owe you protection. If you do want their protection, accept that you'll have to stay on their good side. Pick one.
