There is no question he was wrongly convicted in the first trial but he did a lot earn their suspicion with his behavior and had the bad looking of being the guy most likely to have done it and looking a lot like he did do it. The reality is without evidence to the contrary if you have a history of violence towards women and a woman gets raped and say sit was you then you are going to prison. I know a lot of people have issues with that but if I would suspect that if it was a woman they loved pointing at a known scumbag saying that is the man who raped me they might see it differently.
