I think the death penalty is much too arbitrary and except in cases like shooting police officers not an effective deterrent. I am certain it would be fairly easier to find multiple cases of murder committed in OK during that time that are more deserving of the death penalty and with stronger evidence. I was just objecting to the way moon presented his argument. The case against him much stronger than moonie wants to give admit. He was caught stealing from his boss and the next day his boss ends up dead and his friend did and claimed he paid him to do it. For good or bad we send people to prison for life on this sort of evidence all the time.

Moondog likes to misrepresent things, it's true. I'm not sure he's misrepresenting it overly much in this case. But, it is what it is. I think this man should never have been convicted. Juries place way too much trust in eye-witness testimony. Add in the fact that the "witness" had every reason to lie and you should have plenty of reasonable doubt.
Moondog is an odd fellow. As are many leftists. They're happy to use the State to destroy people's lives when they don't agree with those people, or need those people's assets, but are squeamish when the police and/or prosecutors do it to (possible) criminals. Every regulation and tax his ilk support could, and sometimes do, lead to people in jail or dead. But they have no problem with that.
