France is the historic home of the French, and Germany is the historic home of the Germans, but America is the historic home of the American Indians, who represent a negligible portion of the population. I suspect the numbers would be lower than they are were people not jumping onto the casino bandwagon with reckless abandon.
While it is true that America has a different concept of nationalism, you can't fault Europe for not sharing it. Additionally, Europe has a very weird Left-Right divide because our so-called "revolution" (in reality a secession from the British Empire) was driven by Enlightenment principles and imposed in a land that had no landed nobility. Europe's Left-Right divide is a product of the anti-clerical, anti-nobility French Revolution, which ended up grafting many libertarian principles onto socialist economics, which means that the Right tends to be reactionary.
Ultimately, though, you know what my position is. Islam as practiced today in the Middle East is intolerant to the point of violence, and all of the problems that it has with every other religion is a direct result of that intolerance.
