So what is the argument for splitting and should England get to vote to keep or not?

Here in Texas suggesting of splitting off have been around for ever but 90% of the people don't really mean it. I personally think Texas would do fine as an independent state but I doubt it will happen in my life time because there is to much risk for to little gain. What is the argument for Scotland splitting off? What does it buy them for all of that risk?
What's up with Scotland and its possible independence?

I agree. The complete disconnect between the two camps does not bode well.
