Hey all,
Well, I know I'm not terribly well known around here, but I figured I'd let you all know what I've been spending the summer preparing for. I am actually starting a concert series called Musical Amoeba featuring contemporary classical. I am a composer and clarinetist, and I recently finished my MA degree. This is my first professional project.
Anyway, the concert series is going to involve six concerts between October and June. Each concert features a different ensemble, and will feature a wide variety of music, not just contemporary classical, but older 'repertoire works' as well as jazz. It will be a pretty eclectic concert as far as small arts organizations go.
I'm working on securing fiscal sponsorship now and getting all the venues lined up for the concerts, as well as securing funding. On the funding end I started an Indiegogo campaign which is almost finished now. I realize now I should've thought about posting this last week. It's gone well, I was seeking $3,500, and I've actually managed to raise $2,330 to this point. So the series is off to a good start.
I figured I'd take this chance to show the community here. Hope you all are doing well!
