My instinct is that there is more to this story than the news article revealed, or at the very least that there are confounding factors that prevent the study from making the clear argument the article is making. Such as perhaps people have plenty of time for thinking and introspection during their day, so when given the opportunity to experience a new sensation, they will choose to do so. Or that showing up to a study and then being told to sit around for fifteen minutes is very different from simply sitting around lazily at home and pondering something.
Regardless, there was no need for the title you gave this post. Not to mention that it doesn't even make sense. What exactly are you accusing him of?
