Right now the only people signing up are the people who are high information but poor, or they know need the insurance, or they just lost their insurance. Lets wait a year when people are paying 1% of their income for their 2013 taxes because they do not have taxes, eventually this will go up to 2.5% because they do not have taxes.
Lets wait a year or two when people realize they can get insurance and the insurance can actually be affordable (I am talking about 5% of their income after subsidies). Lets wait a year when they can talk to their friends who signed up this year, and now they are protected.
The CBO expects Obamacare exchanges to provide insurance for 20 million people by the end of 2016. (2017 we will get a new president, republican or democrat).

This is not counting the Medicaid expansion. Supposedly according to the CBO 17 million people will have health insurance due to Obamacare Medicaid expansion vs without Obamacare Medicaid expansion. Yes some states will not take the expansion but long term I expect the legislature and governors in republican states to cave and allow the expansion. Obamacare is no longer abstract, it is actually starting to be implemented this year.
Yes some people will lose their health care due to Obamacare, according to the CBO about 6 million (4 million from employers and 2 million from individual markets) due to Obamacare. This is still a net gain of 30 million people, and those 2 million from individual markets probably did have crappy insurance plans. I am not saying people shouldn't have the liberty to have crappy insurance plans in theory but now all insurance is the same as I sure you would agree Anonymous2000 (obamacare does allow bronze, silver, gold, and platinum plans as well catastrophic plans for people under 30).
