He's one of the very few likable Yankees over the last 15 years or so. I think now is perfect. I honestly don't think he can contribute to the level that his team and fan base expect/demand of him anymore, period. I think this season he can do fairly well and put in a solid season to go out on. Dragging it out with that Yankee media would be awful and stressful. He can leave this way as gracefully as possible.
