I'm still a percolator fan, partially because you can perk coffee over a fire if the power goes out or you're far away from civilization which is when you need coffee the most, but if you entertain much or haven't settled to a specific 'This is how I drink my coffee every time' pattern then it might be a good route but here's the issue with K-cups and similar. They are insultingly expensive. One K-cup runs more than an entire pot of coffee of fairly premium beans. On the website or Walmart they're charging about 55¢ a piece in bulk. Well a typical bag or can of coffee runs about 3-4¢ a cup, and a teaspoon of sugar costs about 1¢, and milk the same. Even if you upgrade to really premium coffee, even if you've got bottles of liqueur you add from, you're very unlikely to hit let alone exceed 10¢/cup. Plus a Keurig runs $100-$150, and that's pricier then pretty much any pot you could buy where you're not just blowing money for something pretty, which describes the pots in virtually every home I visit.
That's my 2¢
