We're not sure of the legality of it, actually. The problem is that the deeds are not particularly clear and there's an interpretation element to it.

The biggest problem for me is that Evie comes outside with me when I hang out our washing. I can't leave her inside alone for that length of time. And I can't have my eyes on her all the time while I'm hanging out the washing, so she can wander around to the parts of the garden I can't see and I'm worried about what the holiday renters might leave in the garden that isn't good for her. Also there's no guarantee that all the people who might rent the place will be good, upstanding people like our neighbours are.

So yeah. It's more worry about the potential of Bad Things happening than anything else. Parental paranoia and all that.
