Next year, I suppose they will choose sporks, for helping to rid the world of sharp, dangerous instruments. Better yet, perhaps they can award it to an abstract concept. They haven't done that yet. Or a dog - that would be fun. "Zippy, the Happiest Dog in the World, has made us less violent because he's just so cute."

This one at least appears to have been somewhat useful in disarmament and non-proliferation of WMDs.
