True story, I went and watched South Park on the big screen not long after it came out with a friend and in the row forward and left there was a lady and her young son. It is rare I see someone's jaw actually drop in horror and the only time I can recall seeing a parent literally clamp hands over eyes and ears of their child and flee. My friend and I amused ourselves over coffee about this incident later and as he was an anime film fan he remarked on the assumption many people make that a cartoon equals safe child-viewing. I was a somewhat sheltered 18-year old college senior at the time, and I'd seen anime on the Sci-fi channel so I thought I appreciated the remark not realizing what I assumed was meant by the 'adult' film was not what he meant by adult film. That resulted in me coming home to stay with my mother that winter and as we enjoyed watching sci-fi together we rented some films, anime was in sci-fi at the time and one of our picks was a classic film called "Legend of the Overfiend". I believe I set a land speed record hurtling toward the VCR power button when the screen gave us both a first viewing experience of "Tentacle Rape" and caused me to later recall the South Park incident and with new empathy for the mother and son in the theater.
I'm curious what brings the reference to mind, random humor?
Yeah, pretty random. Just came to mind when I saw some f-bombs in the subthread and I thought of the censor chip and that of course led to the song. Nothing personal, of course
Je suis méchant.
