View original postIt should be ridiculously easy, actually, given that you already know two languages. The only foreign concept if you haven't studied a Romance language is the rampant use of the subjunctive, which Americans can't seem to use properly on those rare occasions it is called for in English, and which is only used in the conditional in Russian. Even so, the subjunctive isn't that hard once you start using it. Have fun!
I have no idea what a subjunctive is (a brief glimpse at wikipedia didn't help), and I hope I won't need to! 98% of learning a language is straight up memorization - of words and phrases. Then once you know the correct expression, you infer a lot of the grammatical rules. At least that's how I'd prefer to do it.

You will need to learn the subjunctive. Very much so.

Ah, but a question isn't a statement of uncertainty. It's a request for information.

There isn't enough Renaissance-era literature that you want to read?

Nope. Not too interested in the literature of the area. Not enough to learn the language

I think that is a very subjective question.

You would like Leopardi's thoughts on the two languages found within his Zibaldone

I will have to look in my copy of the Zibaldone on that one.

Bolivia is pretty amazing and has a good exchange rate, though you'll need a visa. *NM*
