I've got the Kaplan version. The first time I took it I mostly focused on the verbal section to study because that's what I thought I was most deficient at. Ended up scoring pretty high on the verbal section and just under what I needed for the quantitative. I'm studying again now to retake it in November. The first time I took it was over a year ago and they had released a new version of the book so I went ahead and got it. Kind of glad I did, was able to sign up for a few scheduled online practice exams through Kaplan.
As far as advice, don't underestimate the quantitative section. I'm also in engineering and did that the first time around. It's more reasoning than brute calculations, and you're under a timed situation, figure about 1.5-2 mins per question. The study guide I got really does a good job explaining the different types of questions you'll be asked and a few different ways to approach them. It also has a fair number of practice problems with explained solutions.
Also, practice practice practice.
