If a conversation is over, and you missed it the first time around, then move on.

Do carry on, please. Otherwise, how great a crime is necroing posts from a few months ago on a board averaging four posts (or less) per day?

then clearly I won't be able to convince you. From where your narcissism springs forth, I don't know. But it is quite clear based on the signs and symptoms you display - need to reply to dormant conversations, need to keep replying. Perhaps you have a need for approval. Perhaps not. I could be wrong. Such is life.

Also, since I know you wish to always have the last reply, I will let you know that I will not be replying to whatever it is you will reply with. Enjoy.

I never got a feel for ending conversations where reply meets reply meets reply, unless someone formally declares an end (well done.) I admit a deeper online neurosis, but not exactly a narcissistic one: I have an irrational anxiety people will think I do not read their replies to me until/unless I respond in turn, so the process can (and often does) continue indefinitely. Usually with Isaac and Legolas, where I get the most nervous because with their comments tend to be sufficiently complex and well reasoned responding with anything more than "acknowledged" is not a five word/second job.

In most of the current cases though the people and topics to whom I responded can be relied upon for stimulating (if not necessarily productive) discussion regardless of a few months elapsing. Trayvon Martin has not gone away, for example, and we have been arguing about the VRAs value for roughly half a century (so far....) Beyond that it as much thinking out loud as anything, since almost no one else will notice anyway. One a few months of lifes diversions confirmed is I was never exactly "holding back" RAFO, just as trivial as the bulk of it. Again, I would necro less (and less noticeably) if anyone else posted.

Rest assured though, if there was ever a time I needed validation from the internet (or thought so) it is long past, but your concern is noted and appreciated.

You could also compare it to the return of the Black Death in 1360, but that would flatter him. *NM* - 12/08/2013 09:03:46 PM 285 Views

Yes, that is annoying and speaks to a huge amount of narcissism on his part. - 14/08/2013 02:41:48 PM 492 Views

In fairness to him, I can't say I see how necro-ing old threads is "rude". - 14/08/2013 09:36:42 PM 499 Views
