I concede race is (at best) secondary to a self-appointed vigilante seeking out and killing a kid for the "crime" of walking home in a nice neighborhood, or claims he is somehow justified by the very Stand Your Ground laws that remove any duty for his victim to retreat once he had the upperhand in an unprovoked fight. Yet the victim was black, so OBVIOUSLY no criticism of his killer can be merited; it is just "a black thing," and thus deserves dismissal.
Of course, arguing Zimmerman would have chased down, fought and killed ANY kid walking home in a nice neighborhood is more rather than less worrisome. But let us ignore that to indulge the fixation of his critics and defenders on the "fact" he is white making this a black vs. white thing (even though he is also hispanic, so it is at least as much a "black vs. brown" thing.) It is not properly a racial issue at all, but one of lethal force, vigilantism and oversight of non-police law enforcement, yet why let serious valid concerns distract us from good clean race-baiting?
